About Me
I am a writer who has worked in the personal banking field during the worst time possible. Since 2008, I was answering the regular questions like “What’s my balance?” and “Where’d my money go?” and the questions of the time “Is the bank stable?,” “What is the Consumer Protection act thing going to affect me?,” “Is it safe to come into the bank?” I live in Oklahoma. In November 2010, it seemed like there was a reported bank robbery almost every day. In late November, there was reported a violent robbery, when two people (the robbers) died.
I also read comic books, play games (table top RPGs, LARPs, and the kind with babababeeps), read and write fiction, and love my husband and kitty. I my work has been published in literary journals and a few trade magazines.
My Fictionpress site for other work.
About the names I choose for myself-
“Cimarron” is a specific area in Oklahoma. It’s around the Cimarron river in North West Oklahoma (the panhandle) and is the setting for the book Cimarron. The book is period (meaning written around the time it’s setting represents) and is perceived as rather racist. It’s also one of the best cowboy books written and was penned by a woman.
Qwill is the name of a character I played for many years in an RPG. I was trying to come up with a semi-Celtic name, with appropriate spelling. The real adaption would have been “Kiwll” (a variation of Kyle), which would be pronounced “Ki-oo-el,” but that was too similar to “kewell” (cool). He was supposed to be comic relief, not the awesome person he became by the end of the game. Qwill is not supposed to be a misspelling of “quill,” but I don’t mind if that’s how you pronounce it…since that’s essentially what it is.
